Discover Islam

This website is developed by a Muslim. A Muslim is one who follows the religion of Islam who’s final messenger we believe to be the prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Muslims utilize two elements as their main sources for knowledge regarding their faith. The Qur’an, which is the Holy Book of Muslims containing the words of Allah (Arabic for God) as well as the Sunnah (the teachings and sayings) of the prophet Muhammad.

Muslims are Monotheists they believe in only One God. Muslims believe in the prophets of Allah of which some are known to the Judio-Christians: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ismael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solimon, John, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon all of them). They believe in many more than the prophets listed but not all of them were mentioned. Nevertheless a Muslim cannot proclaim his faith and be accepted into the fold unless he believes in all the prophets. If even one prophet’s status is denied then his proclamation is not accepted and he is not considered a Muslim.

Muslims believe that Eissa (Arabic for Jesus) was a mighty messenger of God and the Messiah. But they neither believe in his God-Hood (being part of the trinity) nor his death (they do not believe he was crucified but rather ascended to the heavens to await his second coming of which the Muslims also believe). They believe in his miraculous birth but equate its miraculousness to the birth of Eve (حواء) the wife of Adam the first of creation. She was born of a father but no mother. Or even more miraculously of the creation of Adam himself (born with neither mother or father… but rather shaped by Allah’s hand). Muslims revere the Prophet Eissa’s mother Mary (Maryam in arabic) for in the Qur’an Mary has a whole chapter dedicated to her which speaks of her ordeal and the chronological occurrence of her son’s birth. In the Qur’an Allah adds to her reverence by always stating her name after the name of her son. Eissa Ibn Maryam (Jesus Son of Mary).

In fact Muslims believe that Judaism and Christianity are deviated versions of Islam. Meaning that the religion that Allah sent down to all his prophets was Islam… and that that is what they taught their followers until their followers deviated and rewrote their religion to suit their needs. By which time God sent down another prophet with an adjustment to the message and then his teachings were followed until his followers or their descendants deviated and so on and so forth until the advent of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
